Elections, elections, everywhere
Election night is looming⊠sure thereâs the one south of the border but thereâs one closer to home. Five candidates are vying to represent their city in the upcoming by-election for Ward 3 councillor on Nov. 5. If you live in Ward 3, October 30th is the deadline to get your ballot in the mail. If you miss that deadline you can also drop off your ballot on the first floor of the Village Mall on November 5th, until 8pm.
If youâre not sure which ward you live in, you can use the cityâs Ward Look Up tool.
Of course there, that other election happening on November 5th as well. If you canât bear to watch home alone, you can head out to a couple of viewing parties. Persistence Theatre is hosting a Goodbye Glass Ceiling celebration at the Majestic Theatre. There will be some chats, some music, a few themed mocktails/cocktails from the Theatre Hill Bar, plus a program that will include regular check-ins on the early poll returnsâŠ
Over at Bannerman Brewing you can join the Morrison Scholarship for a US Election Watching fundraiser in support of civic education. Grab a pint and host Tim Powers and a panel of political and election experts with live, relevant analysis of the results as they come in.
