🗳️ 100 Years of Suffrage
On Wednesday, from 12pm-2pm in Bannerman Park, there will be a free concert and ceremony to unveil the Armine Nutting Gosling statue celebrating 100 years of women having the right to vote in Newfoundland. Come out and celebrate the power of women working together.
🔥 It’s been a dry summer…and we’re only just getting started
The fire ban on the Northeast Avalon has been reinstated until at least Thursday. This means no charcoal bbqs and no open fire pits. Propane bbqs and fire pits are ok though.
🛣️ Get a bird’s eye view of the Team Gushue expansion
Keith Gosse from the Telegram has recently shared a drone video of the progress made to extend the Team Gushue highway past Topsail Road. It’s interesting to get a look at the new T’railway underpass being installed and an early look at the Commonwealth roundabout. Check it out for yourself.

🎶 Songbird: A Tribute to Eva Cassidy debuts at the Majestic Theatre with Karla Pilgrim and an all-star backing band.
🕺 Lindy Hop on the Rock is returning to the library for an entertaining and energetic workshop. Let’s try ShimSham – the solo-style jazz line dance. No partner needed, but do bring a friend or two for lots of fun.
🎱 Drive-In Bingo returns to the Jack Byrne Arena with proceeds going to the Eating Disorder Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador!

🎪 Iceberg Alley: Old Crow Medicine Show with Hunter Brothers and Damian Follett
📚 Join the Marjorie Mews Library for Drag Storytime in partnership with Quadrangle NL, featuring Drag performer Vex. Fabulous fun for the whole family!
🎷Drop by Theatre Hill for a night of jazz, with house band Heidi Burns Trio and musicians from around the city! The house band will play a short set of well-known jazz standards, and then the stage will be opened up to jammers!
