đ·Jazz, Magic & Speed DatingâJust a Regular Week in St. Johnâs!
Public parking may be changing, but at least you can still cuddle a cow.
Good morning St. Johnâs. This is St. Johnâs Living - the local newsletter that feels like reaching for the last Mary Brownâs tater and discovering there are two.
In this weekâs St. Johnâs Living:
Changes coming to PayByPhone parking?
Now you can âborrowâ seeds
Letâs get into itâŠ
Digest
Changes coming to metered parking?
The cityâs contract with PayByPhone is up for renewal and for the past 7 years the city has paid $0.15 for every transaction. If the contract is renewed that cost will go up to $0.35/transaction (a yearly increase of almost $119,000), which the city plans to absorb rather than pass it on to residents. However, to cut down on the number of low-cost transactions, expect to see a new 15-min minimum roll out to paid parking if council approves the recommendation. Keep an eye on todayâs Committee of the Whole meeting to see how it plays out.
The Seed Library is open for business
Did you know that you can âcheck outâ seeds from the A.C. Hunter Library? Now you do! Bring your library card and come up to the 3rd floor to choose up to 5 packets of varying seeds to take home with you. Happy growing!
